Foz do Iguaçu is one of Brazil’s postcards, thanks to its monumental spectacle of 275 waterfalls that make up the Iguaçu falls, distributed over 2,7 km on the border between Brazil and Argentina. Of the 19 so-called “great falls”, three (Floriano, Deodoro and Benjamin Constant) are on the Brazilian side, in the Parque Nacional do Iguaçu. Declared a World Natural Heritage by UNESCO, it is the habitat of several species of fish, birds, mammals, and butterflies. The best time to enjoy the Falls is in the summer (December to February) when rainfalls are short and the water volume greater. At Foz do Iguaçu there is no shortage of sightseeing options, such as the Parque dos Pássaros and the Marco das Três Fronteiras, whose diversified trade and affordable prices attract the visitors’ attention. Those looking for adventure are never disappointed. Foz do Iguaçu offers tourists a mix of wonder and excitement with activities like rappel, climbing, zip line and rafting on the Iguaçu river. The lake formed with the construction of the Itaipu hydroelectric plant also brings entertainment options with its artificial beaches, anchorages, marina, and parks. It also pays to take advantage of the city’s sports infrastructure, with its beautiful golf fields and tennis courts.
